RIICCM202E – Identify, locate and protect underground servicesParticipants on this course will use the BYD Australia system and electromagnetic locators to identify and locate different underground services using a range of frequencies and different connection methods. Rodders and Sondes, which are inserted down a pipe or conduit will also be used for locating. Available methods for protecting underground services are also covered in the course. The course, RIICCM202E is the initial first step all “budding” locators should take. |
VU23068 – Scan concrete with GPRConcrete scanning enables you to visualise major structural components within concrete. Markings allow you to avoid these areas when performing invasive work, preventing damage to the concrete structure. Damage to rebar and post-tension cables can be extremely dangerous, potentially causing immediate structural failure and injuring or killing those on site. Damage to electrical services within the concrete can cause electrocution or death. |

NWPNET029 - Locate, identify and protect utilities – Basic GPRGain an understanding of the background science and fundamental working knowledge including, setup, data collection and interpretation of radar images, along with the practical elements to help identify underground services and utilities. We train the basic operating principles of the equipment and follow this up with field training of how the instruments work. This tried and tested method allows you demonstrate your proficiencies. We will develop your knowledge and skills to work confidently, efficiently, and safely, under all conditions. |
RIICCM303 – Conduct vacuum excavationsVacuum excavation is a non-mechanical and less invasive method of excavation. A blast of air or water is first directed into the dig site to loosen soil and break up any large materials. It is categorised as air or hydro vacuum excavation depending on how the soil is broken down. |

AVIY0028 - Operate remotely piloted aircraft in excluded category sub-2 kg operationsThis unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge to operate a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) in excluded sub-2 kg category operations. It includes operating within the relevant regulatory requirements of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). This unit addresses flight planning, pre-flight inspection, operating an RPAS during normal flight, managing an RPAS during abnormal or emergency procedures and landing. Excluded category operators are still required to obtain necessary CASA approvals. Legislative or certification requirements to fly in this category apply to this unit at the time of publication |
